How long does it take for help to arrive after I request it?

The process consists of two phases: first, the Recognition of Degree, and then the approval of the Individual Care Program. Timeframes may vary depending on demand, but we will keep you informed at each stage so you know the status of your application.

What is the difference between a disability certificate and dependency?
  • Disability Certificate: It recognizes a percentage of physical, mental, or sensory impairment (minimum of 33%). It grants tax benefits, access to sheltered employment, or parking permits, but does not necessarily imply receiving care.

  • Dependency situation: Evaluate the need for help from another person For performing basic tasks (eating, personal hygiene, mobility). It's the way to access services such as care homes, day centers, or home care. At the Mancomunidad (Association of Municipalities), we guide you through both processes.

Are there any financial aid options available for caring for a family member at home?

Yes, within the catalog of the Dependency Law there is the Economic Benefit for Care in the Family Environment (PECEF).

This financial aid is intended to contribute to the expenses related to the care of a dependent person when they are cared for by a family member in their own home. To access it, certain cohabitation and living conditions requirements must be met, which will be assessed by your assigned social worker during the preparation of the Individualized Care Plan (PIA).

What does the Home Help Service (SAD) consist of?

He SAD It is a professional resource for people who have difficulty caring for themselves. Its goal is to enable them to remain in their homes for as long as possible while maintaining a good quality of life.

The tasks performed by our assistants include:

  • Personal attention: Grooming, hygiene, help with dressing or eating, and medication management.

  • Domestic care: Daily cleaning, shopping, meal preparation, and laundry.

  • Psychosocial support: Companionship and stimulation to avoid isolation.
